KINGSTON, Jamaica - The Quick Galloper revisits the career paths of the runners in the 2023 10-furlong Jamaica St. Leger. The 2024 edition of this three-year-old Classic event is scheduled for Sunday, July 7.

This report details the progress of the runners in the 2023 St. Leger, presented in the order of their finish.

FIRST: THALITA
Thalita, trained by Jason DaCosta and ridden by Reyan Lewis, delivered her best performance to date in this Classic win. Unfortunately, she has since struggled with injuries, leading to a prolonged recovery. Recently, Thalita returned to competitive racing in the Overnight Allowance class, where she is expected to win and move up to higher grades.

SECOND: MONEY MISER
Money Miser can be described as the 'bridesmaid' of the 2023 three-year-old Classic season, consistently finishing in the top spots. Following a lengthy break, he returned to competition on May 11 and secured his fourth win on June 22. Now in the Overnight Allowance class, Money Miser is anticipated to advance to higher classes soon.

THIRD: PRINCESS SHARON
Princess Sharon performed admirably in the St. Leger but has not made significant progress since.

FOURTH: RHYTHM BUZZ
Rhythm Buzz has emerged as one of the most progressive horses currently in training. He has won four consecutive races, moving from non-winners of four to Grade One in almost a single sweep. His recent victories, achieved over distances ranging from six furlongs to nine furlongs and 25 yards, highlight his versatility.

FIFTH: MAMMA MIA
This filly went on to win the Jamaica Oaks, making her the only double Classic winner of her three-year-old cohort. Mamma Mia's best performance arguably came when she set a blistering pace in the Mouttet Mile, finishing a commendable third among the best horses in training. She is currently competing in the Open Allowance class.

SIXTH: LIFE IS LIFE
Life Is Life has not shown much progress and is now racing in the claiming ranks.

SEVENTH: HUNTSMAN
Huntsman has exceeded early expectations with three wins from 18 starts. He is on track to secure his fourth win and move up to the Overnight Allowance class.

EIGHTH: MOJITO
After winning the 2000 Guineas, Mojito was expected to dominate the Classics. However, he underperformed in the St. Leger and later showed improvement in the Jamaica Derby. Health issues became apparent after a disappointing run in the Mouttet Mile in December 2023. Mojito has not raced since but recently returned to morning exercises, aiming to rehabilitate his career.

NINTH: KAI ON THE GO
Kai on the Go remains active in racing but has yet to achieve notable success.

TENTH: FROM SHEER TO BEN
From Sheer to Ben is still competing but has not made a significant impact.

ELEVENTH: SENSATIONAL MOVE
Sensational Move has faced numerous injuries throughout his career. He demonstrated his potential by defeating his classy stablemate, Desert of Malibu, in a five-furlong straight race. Despite his talent, Sensational Move's racing schedule is irregular due to health issues.

TWELFTH: ALL FOR LOVE
All for Love has reached the Overnight Allowance class with four wins from 30 starts. Competing consistently in this class, All for Love is expected to find success and eventually move up to the Open Allowance class.
