Long-standing and celebrated conditioner Everald Joseph Waugh passed away early this morning. He was 85 years old.
Waugh was the patriarch of a family that built a strong racing legacy. He leaves behind his wife, Lindy, four daughters, and six sons.
Two of his sons, Errol and Delroy, followed in his footsteps as racehorse trainers.
“Father Waugh,” as he was affectionately known among members of the racing fraternity, is best remembered for training horses such as Jimmy Connors, Bargain Shopper, Chop Chop, and Pretender.
