KINGSTON, Jamaica -The ninth race on the Sunday card of May 22, 2022, is the second of the races on the day for three-year-olds, this time a (non-winners of two) call at seven furlongs. Twelve horses are entered to compete.
1 – Lion of Ekati is a dark brown gelding (USA February 14) by Tale of Ekati out of Indian Conduct trained by Jason DaCosta with Reyan Lewis in the saddle. Has no chance of winning.
2 – Total Prosperity is a bay filly (USA February 3) by Danza out of One Hot Romance trained by Steven Todd with Matthew Bennett in the saddle. This foreigner is making her debut and does so without showing much at exercise. Needs time.
3 – Rainsville is a grey gelding (April 12) by Casual Trick out of Fiftyshadesofray trained by Richard Azan with Youville Pinnock in the saddle. Slowly finding himself and is not ready for these yet. Note, Rainsville races with the tongue tie-off.
4 – Slam is a bay gelding (March 4) by Sensational Slam out of Bedroom Chatter trained by Ryan Darby with Dick Cardenas in the saddle. Released the maiden tag on May 8 going 8 ½ furlongs and now faces tougher opponents. Slam will be doing his best running in the final furlong.
5 – Nomoredeals is a chestnut colt (April 18) trained by Gresford Smith with Paul Francis in the saddle. Can easily be dubbed as the consistent one in this contest. Nomoredeals was only about 6 lengths behind Blue Vinyl in THE KINGSTON, and with the trip reduced can play a prominent role in the outcome. Nomoredeals will hit the board.
6 – Morimoto is a bay colt (May 24) by Casual Trick out of Lucky Be Good trained by Anthony Nunes with Robert Halledeen in the saddle. This lightly raced colt has been showing improvement at exercise and now tries non-two for the first time. Morimoto is set to fight this one out.
7 – Giant Wheeler is a chestnut gelding (April 29) by Northern Giant out of Khaliliah trained by Jason DaCosta with Anthony Thomas in the saddle. Earning his way at the non-two level as demonstrated when he finished fourth behind Goliath The Great over the five-straight course on May 8. Giant Wheeler is going to be comfortable at seven furlongs and with the experience is expected to be there when it reaches decision time. Note, Giant Wheeler races with the tongue tie on.
8 – Prince Sanjay is a chestnut colt ((April 6) by Emperor Hall out of Dalla Fifty trained by Steven Todd with Romario Spencer in the saddle. The learning process for Prince Sanjay at this level gets underway. Note, Prince Sanjay races with first-time Lasix.
9 – Power of Faith is a chestnut gelding (April 13) by Key To Power out of Yield To Faith trained by Donovan Plummer with Roger Hewitt in the saddle. Races for the first time under the care of trainer Plummer. Power of Faith last raced in claiming company and is now returning to his peer group and cannot be seen as a live threat on Sunday.
10 – Roraima is a bay colt (May 13) by Bern Identity out of Classic Princess trained by Anthony Nunes with Tevin Foster in the saddle. Has made three starts at this level and is yet to impress. Needs more time. Note, Roraima races with the tongue tie on.
11 – Gilbert is a chestnut colt (USA April 6) by Jack Milton out of Causin A Storm trained by Philip Feanny with Allen Maragh in the saddle. This foreigner ran a game race when he finished second behind stable companion Power on April 17. Gilbert has since been doing well in the mornings and with no major player around is primed to get off the mark.
12 – Stomp The Rhythm is a bay gelding (May 21) by Savoy Stomp out of River Rhythm trained by Vincent Atkinson with Javaniel Patterson in the saddle. Slowly getting to know the pace of this grouping and is showing up at exercise. Stomp The Rhythm has nothing to fear among these and has every chance of winning. Note, Stomp The Rhythm races with the blinkers on.
