Jockey Shane Ellis for trainer Anthony Nunes
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Thalos a chestnut gelding by Lion Tamer out of Hija De Reina, after finishing fourth on debut 15 days ago, earned his first visit in the winners’ enclosure in the Caymanas Sunday sixth.
The Caymanas Sunday (April 3) sixth was a three-year-old maiden condition contest at five furlongs straight.
There were six first-time runners in the field of 13, with jockey Shane Ellis on the Anthony Nunes trained Thalos, breaking well, and thereafter moving more to the middle of the track from the two draw.
Thalos was in front by the time they reached the main track and he easily extended his lead to win by 9 1/4 lengths.
Second, went to Dujour (Anthony Thomas) with Prince Sanjay (Reyan Lewis) third.
The winning time clocked by Thalos was 1:00.2 with fast splits of 22.4 x 46.0.
