THE QUICK GALLOPER following the 3-y-o
KINGSTON, Jamaica – More and more, the three-year-olds are finding their way to the races.
On Sunday, April 3, 2022, 13 three-year-olds including six newcomers, race over five furlongs straight in a maiden condition contest.
THE QUICK GALLOPER looks at the 13 starters to assess their chances of winning, in post-position order.
1 – FREEDOM STREET is a newbie on a learning curve.
2 – THALOS finished fourth in his debut run on March 19 behind Emperorofthecats and Berlino’s Choice. Should strip fitter for that first effort with a visit to the winners’ enclosure to come later in his career.
3 – JOSH is making his debut and with gain experience.
4 – COTTONWOOD KATHY has raced three times and has nothing to show for these efforts.
5 – LEGAL BOMB will learn from this first run.
6 – DUJOUR is experienced with seven starts to her name. That trend will continue.
7 – BROMLEY is well-bred and hopefully he will gain valuable experience from this his first race.
8 – RISKY BID is a first-timer, who will acquire valuable practice.
9 – MISS CALEESI has shown little in her seven starts to date.
10 – BERLINO’S CHOICE failed by a head 15 days ago to notch her first win over four furlongs. Berlino’s Choice is finding her groove and has every chance of opening her account.
11 – PRINCE SANJAY has been around in his five starts, three coming down the straight course. This race provides the perfect opportunity for Prince Sanjay to get off the mark.
12 – GT BOY raced for the first time seven days ago, finishing 50 lengths behind the winner after drifting out. Note, GT Boy races with the tongue tie on.
13 – YELLOWSTONE faces the starter for the first time and is the morning line favourite. Reports from exercise indicate that Yellowstone is well advanced in his preparation, and is expected to be with the main contenders when this one is being decided. The presence of Dane Nelson in the saddle adds fuel to the winning fire.
