Ten horses face the starter
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Forty-one three-year-olds have been nominated to race this weekend (Saturday, March 26 – Sunday, March 27), with both days having two maiden condition races for the grouping.
Division two of the two maiden condition events on Sunday (Mar 27) with 10 entries going 6 ½ furlongs is analysed below.
1 – Call The Emperor is a three-year-old bay colt (April 1) by Emperor Hall out of Call For A Cat trained by Carl Anderson with Paul Francis in the saddle. Call The Emperor raced with the leaders on his last outing 43 days ago (seven furlongs) and then shortened making the half-a-furlong less on Sunday more to his liking. Morning railbirds say he is making improvement and could run surprisingly well. Predicted odds 6-1.
2 – Justin Biden is a three-year-old chestnut colt (`April 15) by Lion Tamer out of Wagon Wheel trained by Lawrence Freemantle with Raddesh Roman in the saddle. Justin Biden was declared a late non-starter on January 22, and since then, his trainer has meticulously prepared him. Expect an improved run from Justin Biden. Predicted odds 16-1.
3 – Great Wayne is a three-year-old bay colt (March 30) by Casual Trick out of Classy Aviator trained by Jason DaCosta with Anthony Thomas in the saddle. Races for the first time for his new trainer, so it is a wait-and-see game currently. Note visor on, tongue tie off, and first time Lasix. Predicted odds 30-1.
4 – Asurety is a three-year-old chestnut gelding (March 9) by Perfect Curlin out of Sure To Cure trained by Anthony Nunes with Robert Halledeen in the saddle. Asurety did not follow up on his third-place effort of February 6 when he returned to the track on March 2. While improving slowly, Asurety can find a place on the board. Predicted odds 5-2.
5 – Stomp The Rhythm is a three-year-old bay gelding (May 21) by Savoy Stomp out of River Rhythm trained by Vincent Atkinson with Shane Ellis in the saddle. Sent off as the 6-5 favourite 14 days ago, Stop The Rhythm failed to deliver. He now goes up against what is a more manageable lot and should play a prominent part in the outcome. Predicted odds 2-1.
6 – KP Choice is a three-year-old bay colt (March 10) by Nasheet out of Drop Them trained by Phillip Lee with Andre Powell in the saddle. KP Choice did well on his debut (March 19), running on over four furlongs. Should be better suited at 6 ½ furlongs and should be wagered in the Trifecta, Superfecta, and Hi-5. Note KP Choice races with the blinkers off. Predicted odds 15-1.
7 – GT Boy is a three-year-old bay colt (June 21) by Herecomesben out of Rejected Slew trained by Anthony Nunes with Tevin Foster in the saddle. Learning at this time and is not ready as yet. Predicted odds 10-1.
8 – Sir Tajay is a three-year-old bay colt (April 15) by Traditional out of Lastochka trained by Steven Todd with Oshane Nugent in the saddle. Raced prominently 14 days ago travelling 7 ½ furlongs but it was noticeable that Sir Tajay was losing ground in the final furlong. Now with the trip reduced, he come into play and could be the X factor. Predicted odds 2-1.
9 – Devonte is a three-year-old grey colt (April 8) by Fearless Vision out of Eighteen Karat trained by Anthony Nunes with Linton Steadman in the saddle. Devonte after being with the leaders two furlongs to go on March 13 (7 ½ furlongs) weakened and was nowhere around at the winning post. Devonte will have one furlong less to deal with, which is a plus for him. Note Devonte races with the figure 8 on. Predicted odds 4-1.
10 – Storm A Come is a three-year-old bay colt (March 9) by Storm Craft out of Terra Marque trained by Patrick Lynch with Oneil Scott in the saddle. Currently learning his trade. Note Storm A Come races with first-time Lasix. Predicted odds 99-1.
