KINGSTON, Jamaica – Running green as expected in his much-anticipated competitive racing debut, Big Jule a bay colt by Tapizar – Blues in the Grass earned the first tick in his win column with a workmanlike performance in the Caymanas Monday sixth. That event was a three-year-old maiden condition call over six furlongs.

Ballatelli (Bebeto Harvey) set the early fractions as Omar Walker decided to hold off on Big Jule.

Entering the straight, Big Jule was still behind Balatelli with the rest having no chance of upsetting.

Taking a while to get into his top stride, Big Jule drew alongside Balatelli and was good enough to pull away winning by 2 ¾ lengths in a time of 1:15.4 for the distance.

Ballatelli was second with another first timer Lion Talk third.
