Will The Door Finally Open For Phenomenal One?

THREE THREE

KINGSTON, Jamaica – The fifth race on Saturday, June 17, 2023, is a three-year-old Maiden Special Weight call over 5 ½ furlongs in which nine are entered.

The Quick Galloper’s assessment is provided below for readers.

1 – HERE COMES DOC is a bay colt (March 23) by Bern Identity out of Indian Bluff, trained by Gary Griffiths with Oshane Nugent aboard. Said to be progressing in the mornings, and with time will get there.

2 – I AM INTERESTED is a bay colt (April 18) by Wannabeaplayer out of Back At You, trained by Joseph Thomas with Raddesh Roman aboard. Coming along, still needs time.

3 – NUCLEAR CHASER is a grey filly (May 16) by Nuclear Wayne out of Paper Chaser, trained by Robert Ffrench with Roger Hewitt in the saddle. Newcomer whose learning curve gets underway.

4 – ALTITUDE is a bay colt (April 3) by Strikewhileitshot out of Miracle River, trained by Patrick Fong with Charlton Riley aboard. Has one start to his credit, still way off from finding the winning post in front.

5 – NEWLAND LINKS is a bay colt (May 19) by Admiral Alex out of Empress Nicole, trained by Jason DaCosta with Daniel Thompson in the saddle. Not ready.

6 – SUPER ALEX is a chestnut colt (February 23) by Admiral Alex out of Jamaican Pharoah, trained by Carl Anderson with Reyan Lewis aboard.  Note, Super Alex races with the blinkers, and tongue tie on. Highly thought of on debut, but was not ready for action. On Saturday, Super Alex has a significant change in jockey, from Kawise Gentle to leader Reyan Lewis, plus there are also changes in equipment.

7 – PHENOMENAL ONE is a chestnut colt (March 31) by Lion Tamer out of Darlin, trained by Jason DaCosta with Anthony Allen aboard. This colt is known for his agitated behaviour while at the gates, yet he gets closer and closer to winning. Phenomenal One has been given his best opportunity of getting off the mark.

8 – THE LOVE OF GOD is a chestnut filly (February 22) by Lion Tamer out of The Principal, trained by Lawrence Freemantle. Enters the fray with 14 starts registering in her hoofs. Came running on strongly on last (June 3) at 5 ½ furlongs to serve notice that finally, she has hit some form. Expected to be there at decision time.

9 – TON LUANA is a bay filly (April 12) by Fearless Vision out of Raksha, trained by Ryan Darby with Jemar Jackson in the saddle. Has no realistic chance of winning.
