KINGSTON, Jamaica – The 2025 Winston ‘Fanna’ Griffiths Classic is scheduled for Sunday, September 7. Quickgallopja.com revisits the 2024 edition and its final results to evaluate the progress, or lack thereof, of the eight horses who faced the starter one year ago.

FIRST – COMEHOMETOME: Returned from a lengthy break on July 26, 2025, finishing second. On August 30, she secured her third career win, pushing earnings past $5.4 million. That August 30 race marked her second start since winning the 2024 Fanna Griffiths on September 8. She is expected to complete her conditions and advance to Overnight Allowance. Beyond that, her trajectory remains uncertain.

SECOND – ALLEGIANCE: Since the 2024 Fanna Griffiths, Allegiance has reached Overnight Allowance but has yet to win at that level. With 24 starts, four wins, and earnings exceeding $4.3 million, further advancement appears unlikely unless he breaks through in Overnight.

THIRD – BRENDA BOY: Has placed second in four of his last five races. After switching stables post-2024 Fanna Griffiths, he has not yet delivered a win for his new connections. Brenda Boy has 24 starts, three wins, and earnings nearing $4 million.

FOURTH – PROVIDENT: Returned to racing on May 10, 2025, after a long layoff. In 2025, he has raced nine times with three wins. Now in Overnight Allowance, he has three starts at that level without placing. Provident has 18 career starts, four wins, and earnings around $3.6 million.

FIFTH – KING PIYE: After multiple attempts, earned his third career win on August 30. A fourth win seems within reach, but further progress may be limited.

SIXTH – AMMA: Retired from racing.

SEVENTH – CAPTAIN SPARROW: Winless in five starts in 2025. Though previously successful in Classic races, he has not followed through since. With three wins already, a fourth remains possible if fitness and form align.

EIGHTH – ROSETTA: Retired after a brief and incomplete campaign.
