Trainer Gary Subratie, a consistent top-three performer, recorded three wins in Jamaica on Saturday, February 7, 2026, with The General, Sensational Soul, and Lexi Lou, and added another at Gulfstream Park in Florida.

The General, ridden by Dane Dawkins, captured the first race, a five-year-old and up Optional Claiming event over 7 ½ furlongs. Settling off the pace, The General moved along the inside to overtake long-time leader Storm (Raddesh Roman) and scored by three lengths. Uncle Peck (Bebeto Harvey), the 4-5 favourite, finished third.

This was The General’s fourth win from 40 starts, pushing earnings past $4 million and elevating him to Overnight Allowance. Subratie noted that the horse had steadily met his conditions and described him as reliable for the stable.

About thirty minutes later, Subratie and Dawkins teamed again when Sensational Soul, a former Classic winner, returned to the winners’ enclosure for the first time since the 2000 Guineas in June 2025. Sensational Soul closed strongly in the stretch to defeat stablemate Thousand Treasures, a 24-1 outsider, by 3 ¾ lengths in a three- and four-year-old non-winners of four call at 7 ½ furlongs. With four career wins, Sensational Soul also moves into Overnight Allowance. Subratie said the horse had struggled against older rivals but was now showing signs of progress.

The third success came in the Eight Thirty Sprint, a three-year-old fillies-only race over five furlongs straight. Lexi Lou, making her third start, broke quickly and maintained her advantage to win by 2 ½ lengths in 59.2 seconds. Subratie explained that Lexi Lou, a June foal, was still developing and would be considered for the Hotline Stakes.

While Subratie was completing his triple in Jamaica, he added a fourth win abroad. At Gulfstream Park, Samaritan’s Joy, ridden by Javier Castellano, won the fifth race. Like The General and Sensational Soul, Samaritan’s Joy is owned by Trevor James.
