KINGSTON, Jamaica – Former champion jockey Shane Ellis has moved his equipment, and is now riding at the Woodbine race track in Canada.
Ellis has not been in the saddle at Caymanas Park for a long while, after receiving an injury.
The ‘Canterman’ as he is affectionately known had mounts in two races on the Woodbine card of Sunday, May 21, 2023.
In the second event, Ellis mounted up on Forester Humor for trainer Anthony Pottinger. Forester Humour finished in seventh place.
In the fourth event, Ellis finished second on longshot (37-1) Julie’s Mist at seven furlongs, in a Maiden Special Weight call for fillies only on the All Weather Track. Julie’s Mist is trained by Carlo Fuoco.
