REPLAY BELOW THE ARTICLE, AND RESULTS
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Market Place a bay filly by Market Rally out of Miss Emily made a winning start to her career by winning the Caymanas Saturday (July 30, 2022) fifth event. That race was Division Two of a three-year-old maiden sprint of four furlongs.
Jockey Aaron Chatrie in the saddle for trainer Gresford Smith, kept Market Place on the inside coming from the one draw. At no time did Chatrie try to move his horse to the centre of the race track which is the accepted norm by many other riders.
Tracking leaders Shewsbury Norm (Omar Walker) and Fearless Fire (Dick Cardenas), Market Place dug deep to go by with rivals winning by 2 3/4 lengths. Fearless Fire was second and Shrewsbury Norm third.
