Jockey Dane ‘The Warrior Chief’ Nelson achieved his 500th winner at the Century Mile Racetrack in Canada over last weekend.
On Saturday, June 6, in the seventh of nine races, Nelson piloted the Gonzalo Anderson trained Playful to victory to reach this significant milestone.
On his Facebook page Nelson wrote the following. – “A special thank you to everyone who has supported me throughout this journey—owners, trainers, grooms, my family, friends, and all the racing fans. I'm grateful that PLAYFUL was able to deliver this milestone victory in the Chariot Chaser Stakes. Reaching 500 career wins in Canada is something I'm truly proud of, but none of it would have been possible without the amazing people who believed in me along the way.
