Jockey David Cabrera was transported to a local hospital Friday after going down in a spill in the stretch drive of the first race at Oaklawn Park.
Cabrera was riding Mostly Awesome for trainer Karl Broberg when his mount ran up between horses at the top of stretch. Mostly Awesome clipped heels and went down, tossing Cabrera hard to the ground.
Daigle, ridden by Chel-C Bailey and trained by Tony Rengstorf, also did not finish. Oaklawn Park publicity reported on social media that Bailey walked back to the jockey's room and both horses also left the track under their own power.
Cabrera entered Friday's action as the leading rider at Oaklawn Park with 62 wins, 13 more than runner-up Francisco Arrieta.
