The Breeders' Cup Classic and the Breeders' Cup Turf purses will witness an increase when the horses line-up for the two-day Breeders’ Cup this year at the Delmar racetrack in California.

The 1 1/4-mile Breeders' Cup Classic will surge from $6 million to an impressive $7 million. Similarly, the 1 1/2-mile Longines Breeders' Cup Turf will see its purse rise from $4 million to $5 million. Consequently, the total purses and awards allocated for the Breeders' Cup World Championships will exceed $33 million.

Drew Fleming, president and CEO of Breeders' Cup Limited, articulated the significance behind the increase: "These purse increases reflect a key mission of the Breeders' Cup World Championships: to attract the best-of-the-best from around the world to compete in a spectacular international showcase.”

Fleming further emphasized the organization's pride in the Breeders' Cup Classic and Turf's standing as premier races globally, with the purse increases reinforcing the board of directors' resolve to elevate the championships' international prominence.
