THE I AM SATISFIED TROPHY – SATURDAY, OCTOBER 11, 2025
The feature event on Saturday’s race card is the I Am Satisfied Trophy, a six-furlong sprint that brings together seven Open Allowance contenders aged three and older. With a blend of speedsters and closers in the mix, anticipation is high for a competitive showdown. The Quick Galloper now assesses the chances of each runner.
NUMBER ONE – UNSPUN
Crowned champion two-year-old in 2024, Unspun’s three-year-old campaign has been more sobering than spectacular. His record includes nine starts with two wins, two seconds, and two third-place finishes. However, signs of resurgence emerged on September 28 when he powered home in an Overnight Allowance event over 7½ furlongs. A colt of notable versatility, Unspun can dictate the pace or settle off it—though the latter may be more strategic here given the abundance of early speed. With momentum on his side, he’s poised to reignite expectations and notch back-to-back victories.
NUMBER TWO – CHAMPION BUBBLER
Champion Bubbler returns to action after a 71-day layoff, having exited the competitive scene amid a dip in form—though notably against the top echelon of runners. His three wins this season were all secured over the five-straight course, a detail that looms large as he now faces the bend. While capable of springing a surprise, his current form and setup make him a risky proposition for punters seeking reliability.
NUMBER THREE – PERFECT BREW
After enduring a prolonged dry spell, Perfect Brew broke through with a win 21 days ago in Overnight Allowance company over 6½ furlongs. Now stepping up in class, he enters as a run-on sprinter who thrives when the frontrunners falter late. His success hinges on the early pace collapsing in the final stretch, which is not out of the question given the line-up.
NUMBER FOUR – MONEY MARKET
Money Market enters off a commendable second-place finish behind Rideallday, the Gold Cup runner-up, in a 5½ furlong dash. Carrying just one pound more this time, he remains a key pace presence. However, he hasn’t raced beyond 5½ furlongs since January, and the added distance demands tactical finesse. A well-judged ride will be essential for him to contend.
NUMBER FIVE – MAMMA MIA
The quintessential speedster of the field, Mamma Mia is known for her ability to sustain a strong gallop over six furlongs and occasionally beyond. Often deployed to support more celebrated stablemates, she now steps into the spotlight with a genuine chance to shine. Despite an eight-pound weight increase, her raw pace and stamina make her a formidable threat.
NUMBER SIX – CALIFORNIA CROWN
California Crown is another pace-forward contender whose recent form has fluctuated. He’s expected to be prominent early when the gates fly open. If his rider exercises patience and taps into his proven Open Allowance credentials, California Crown could be a factor when it matters most.
NUMBER SEVEN – FEARLESS FORCE
Fearless Force returns to a more forgiving class after struggling in the recent Gold Cup against elite company. The six-furlong trip is ideal for his style—stalking the pace and launching a late surge. With conditions more in his favour, he’s one to monitor closely.
THE QUICK GALLOPER’S VERDICT
The I Am Satisfied Trophy promises a clash of speed and strategy. With multiple front-runners in play, the race could set up for a closer. Unspun, fresh off a confidence-boosting win and tactically adaptable, holds a strong hand. Mamma Mia’s raw pace and California Crown’s potential resurgence add intrigue, while Fearless Force lurks as a late threat. Expect fireworks in the stretch.
