KINGSTON, Jamaica – Universal Boss made it win number seven in his career of 44 starts when he gave a game performance to take the Caymanas Saturday eighth – a claiming event ($1 million - $800,000) going seven furlongs.

Jockey Linton Steadman kept Universal Boss well behind the leaders Extruder (Robert Halledeen) and Special Counsel (Dane Dawkins). Known pace setter Jamai Raja (Romario Spencer) was slowly out of his box and although rushed on the inside rails was never a winning factor.

After four furlongs were completed, Special Counsel streaked off in front to enter the straight well in total command. Steadman had Universal Boss gaining ground quickly and when he asked the five-year-old to go, he quickly caught a faltering Special Counsel as Sebastian came running on strongly in deep stretch for second.

Rohan Kabir (Oshane Nugent) finished third.
