Jockey Ramon Nepare and trainer Cashbert Singh returned to the winner’s enclosure following a gritty, relentless performance by Undeclared War in the eighth race over 5 1/2 furlongs.
Jaheim Anderson set the early pace aboard Secret Mission, while Nepare patiently bided his time, settling Undeclared War well within the chasing group.
Commencing a sweeping three-wide move at the 2 1/2 furlong marker, Undeclared War ranged up alongside Secret Mission as the field turned for home. The pair engaged in a fierce duel down the stretch, but Undeclared War found the necessary late surge to prevail by a half-length at the wire.
