The promoting company of horse racing in Jamaica, Supreme Racing and Entertainment Limited (SVREL) has announced adjustments to the 2026 racing calendar, reducing the number of scheduled racedays from 79 to 77.
The two dates removed are Saturday, July 25 and Saturday, November 28. Notably, these cancellations fall immediately before major events:
- July 25 was positioned just ahead of August 1 (Jamaica Oaks) and August 6 (Derby Day).
- November 28 preceded the highly anticipated Mouttet Mile weekend on December 5–6.
This marks the first time in the living memory of The Quick Galloper, that Caymanas Park will not host racing on a Saturday for reasons unrelated to natural disruptions such as hurricanes, flooding, a disease outbreak or labour disputes.
The revised calendar, now reflecting 77 racedays, has been officially published.
