Two Foreigners Arrive For 2023 Mouttet Mile

MOUTTET MILE 2023

The following is a new release from Supreme Ventures Racing and Entertainment Limited (SVREL).

SVREL is pleased to announce the first two (2) imported entries for the 2023 staging of the Mouttet Mile Invitational.

A letter of intent was submitted for the first entrant - EASY AS ABC, owned by Jeremy Rachpaul and trained by Donovan Hutchinson. EASY AS ABC is a three-year-old bay colt, sired by ARROGATE out of Belle Chloe. He has 2 wins from 9 starts, with earnings of US$18,680 in 2023 and total career earnings of US$46,320.

Rachpaul shared his excitement with the Caymanas Park team: “We imported EASY AS ABC to Jamaica, from Miami, on June 27; he went through 2 weeks of quarantine and has been training at Caymanas Park since July 11. He is scheduled to race in a 6 furlong on September 23. He has already won in his career going beyond a mile (1 1/16 mile), so I don’t see this distance being an issue for him. I race in Guyana primarily and I’m excited - not just for the Mouttet Mile, but to be a part of the Jamaican racing circuit.”

The second entrant – PROPELLANT – was bred in Kentucky, USA. He is owned by Chevan Maharaj and trained by Anthony Nunes. PROPELLANT is also a three-year-old bay colt and has placed 3 times from 7 starts.

Maharaj is no stranger to Caymanas Park, as owner of 2019 Triple Crown winner SUPREME SOUL and 2021 Jamaica Derby winner CALCULUS.

Maharaj noted: “Though he is a maiden, PROPELLANT is well bred by INTO MISCHIEF out of Quality Way, and we think he will be well suited to Jamaican soil. We are certain that he will catch the trip at a mile, and we hope that he will give us a shot in this race.”
