KINGSTON, Jamaica – Trevor’s Choice, stepping down in grade, delivered for trainer Al Brown and jockey Shane Ellis with victory in the Overnight Allowance Caymanas Saturday ninth.
This Overnight Allowance call was competed for over 5 ½ furlongs by three-year-olds and upwards horses.
With 10 horses in the line-up, it was Victory Turn (Javaniel Patterson) who set off on the lead followed by Trevor’s Choice and Capturemyship (Anthony Thomas). Solid Approach (Omar Walker) was settled in fifth place.
Turning into the stretch for the final drive, it was still Victory Turn on the lead with Trevor Choice nearby on the outside and Solid Approach taking aim on the inside rails.
Ellis is typical fashion got Trevor’s Choice to respond and the five-year-old went by the leader while Walker on Solid Approach had to switch from off the inside rails losing two to three lengths in the process.
Now on the outside, Solid Approach came with a late burst but it was too late as Ellis and Trevor’s Choice had done to earn victory by half-a-length. Victory Turn was third.
