KINGSTON, Jamaica – The unlikely combination of trainer Cashbert Khwalsingh and jockey Osive Donegal struck with Heart of Rome at odds of 9-1 in the third race on the Saturday card at The Park just moments ago.
Racing prominently in the maiden condition event for five-year-olds and upwards coming down the four-furlong straight course, Heart of Rome took over on the front end when the horses hit the racetrack proper.
There were some anxious moments for the backers of Heart of Rome in the final furlong as Ratio (Shane Ellis) the 2-5 favourite came with a late surge but Heart of Rome held on for the victory.
The win by Heart of Rome gave Khwalsingh his fourth this year while Donegal was winning his third.
