KINGSTON, Jamaica - Having saddled five winners over the last two race days, trainer Jason DaCosta enhanced his chances of becoming the champion conditioner for 2021, when his hard-knocking charge Tomohawk finally obliged to win the Caymanas Saturday (December 4) first.

Tomahawk, racing for the 24th occasion, scored his third win in a four-year-old and upwards non-winners of three event going seven furlongs.

Jockey Anthony Thomas aboard Tomohawk played the waiting game, settling comfortably in fifth place as Another Cookie (Chalrick Budhai) and D’s Choice engaged in a battle for the lead.

The two leaders entered the straight locked together as Thomas brought Tomohawk on the outside for his challenge.

Another Cookie was wobbly in the straight moving from near to the rails to the outside, as for a brief moment he lodged himself next to Tomohawk.

It was then that Thomas pushed Tomohawk ahead, going on to win by four lengths. Another Cookie was second and XY Soul (Roger Hewitt) third.
