KINGSTON, Jamaica – In what can be described as a fairly easy day for punters up to the eighth race, was in less than two minutes turned around in the final race of nine today (Saturday, February 20), by Coppertone at searing odds of 24-1.
Ridden by Chris Mamdeen and trained by Randolph Scott, Coppertone set off with the early pack and then went solo into the turn.
Coppertone and Mamdeen entered the straight with the lead but that lead was a tenuous one as challengers were popping up. Mamdeen in his usual round-a-bout style managed to keep Coppertone going to the winning post.
K D Flyer (Aaron Chatrie) was second and Elitist (Anthony Thomas) third.
