KINGSTON, Jamaica – When the expected speed unravelled in the last furlong and a half, old stager Superluminal (Dane Dawkins) took over but when he seemed to have the trophy under his hoofs, Crimson (Tevin Foster) produced a devastating run to catch and nip Superluminal in the ‘glass’ as they say at the Park.

That victory by Crimson came in the Caymanas Saturday eighth.

When the starter let them go, England’s Rose (Anthony Thomas) racing at this distance for the first time set controlled splits with her main protagonist being Harry’s Train whose jockey did not have the use of his whip. Superluminal was behind the leaders and Crimson was even further back.

England’s Rose increased her lead leaving the half mile pole, as Superluminal moved much closer.

In the stretch drive, Superluminal gained the ascendency quickly dispatching England’s Rose and while Superluminal was giving his all, Crimson suddenly started to sprout wings to fly by Superluminal - getting home by a neck.

Superluminal was second and Roy Rogers (Nicholas Hibbert) third.

Trainer Subratie was earning his third win on the day.
