KINGSTON, Jamaica – The first of two three-year-old maiden events is the fourth on Saturday, July 30. 2022. This is Division One of two on the day and will be contested over four furlongs or 800 metres.
In this race there are three first-time starters; Posing Already, Whisper To Me, and Rambling Rose.
Below is the review of all eleven horses in this race in post-position order.
1 – DUJOUR (drb f by Force De Jour out of First Kiss) – Dujour has already raced 12 times, hitting the board on five occasions. Dujour is speedy with the distance up his alley. The one draw might be a deterrent.
2 - POSING ALREADY is the first of the newcomers and is a bay colt (April 28) by Northern Giant out of Geisha’s Glory trained by Robert Pearson with Shavon Townsend in the saddle. Posing Already is said to be making some progress at morning exercise. The talk is that this bay colt is well advanced and a winning entry cannot be ruled out.
3 - WHISPER TO ME is the second of the newcomers and is a roan colt (May 5) by War Marshall out of Jai Ho trained by Dave Girod with Daniel Thompson in the saddle. Note, Jai Ho has already produced Prince Sammo. Not yet ready.
4 – NIKITA B (b f by Deputy Glitters out of Osada) – Nikita B will continue her leaning process.
5 – STORM A COME (b c by Storm Craft out of Terra Marique) – Did well over the straight course (5 furlongs) on July 26 when finishing second behind Great Wayne. In his next two efforts Back over the straight, Storm A Come stocks have risen.
6 – YOU AND I (dkb f by Here Comes Ben out of Appassionata) – Has had a rough time in her five starts to date, with the continuation of the learning curve expected on Saturday.
7 – FYFFES PEN LIZ (g f by Midnight Hawk out of Sexy Moon) – Fyffes Pen Liz is learning with a place on the board being her best option.
8 – SARGE IN CHARGE (b g by Nasheet out of Aunt Hilda) – Has not done badly over the straight course and is experienced enough to play a part but the presence of Akeem Grant in the saddle does not inspire confidence.
9 – ZION’S PRINCESS (b f by Midnight Hawk by Lookatmenow) – Has received a pull of 4 lb in the handicaps and is comfortable among these. Look for a good effort from Zion’s Princess. Note. Zion’s Princess races with the figure 8 off and with first-time Lasix.
10 – RUBYISTHEONE (b f by Natural Selection out of Come Dance With Me) – This filly is coming off a break of 230 days, after finishing third on debut (December 12, 2021), finishing third behind Power of Faith and Slam over Saturday’s trip of four furlongs. Rubyistheone faces much weaker opposition now, therefore she has a chance of winning.
11 - RAMBLING ROSE is the third of the newcomers and a bay filly (April 27) by Bern Identity out of Ruby Rose trained by David Lee Sin with Oshane Nugent in the saddle. Will learn.
