Filly reaches Overnight Allowance grouping
KINGSTON, Jamaica – It took time, and it took effort. Those were the main ingredients responsible for the rebound from injury, a change of stables, and other concerns that have influenced the career of four-year-old grey filly Action Ann.
During her two-year-old season, Action Ann (Sensational Slam out of Ladylike) presented all the credentials of being one with Classic race potential. That potential did not materialise despite one effort when Action Ann won over seven furlongs in 1:25. and mash. This filly has raced competitively against some of the better ones in her age group including She’s A Wonder, Hoist The Moist, and Bern Notice.
Following a change of shedrow, Action Ann has now raced three times under the care of trainer Patrick Lynch, finishing second once and winning on two occasions including on Saturday, March 19, 2022, going seven and a half furlongs.
The manner, Action Action accelerated under the guidance of jockey Youville Pinnock leaving the three-furlong marker and the way she held her gallop while in the straight, speaks to the calibre of horse she has the possibility of developing into.
The time clocked by Action Ann was 1:33.4 with splits of 24.2 x 48.0 x 1:12.3. To place the final time of Action Ann into context, THE QUICK GALLOPER checked the other times and fractions done over the same distance, on the same day by other horses but in different classes. See the table below.
