KINGSTON, Jamaica – While the star shone brightly on jockey Samantha Fletcher who was at her best, bringing home two consecutive winners in consecutive races Jamai Raja and El Gringo, the talk at the track at the end of the 10 races was focussed on the five punters who became millionaires.
The Reggae-6 exotic wager had one winner, and that one bettor, who purchased the winning bet in Lucea, Hanover, collected the staggering sum of $10,276,099.
This skilful punter must be congratulated for finding El Gringo at 23-1 and Smarty Tradition at 17-1, and it is good to see a person outside of the race track area and the Kingston environs winning what was the biggest single Reggae-6 payout to date.
Then when the dividends for the last race were announced, three more millionaires emerged.
There was one winner of the Placepot 8, collecting the tidy sum of $1,170,213.
There were three winners of the Twilight-6, with each receiving $1,200,519.
Congratulations to all from THE QUICK GALLOPER!

Jockey Shane Ellis again demonstrated that he is the master of riding two turns. The “Canter Man” as he is popularly known gave ample proof of this acumen on the Alford Brown-trained True Al Sky.
Ellis watched the leaders while staying on the rails down the backstretch. When the leaders started to falter, Ellis pushed through True Al Sky, who went on to win without a fuss.
Ellis along with Fletcher had two winners on the day, to lead home the jockeys.

Regal and Royal with Tevin Foster aboard warmed up for the Derby with a decisive victory over 10 furlongs albeit in a slow time. The victory by Regal and Royal closed a double for trainer Gary Griffiths, the most by any conditioner on the day.
Interestingly, none of the present top three trainers, Anthony Nunes, Gary Subratie, and Jason DaCosta saddled a winner.
