KINGSTON, Jamaica – Another millionaire was made after successfully capturing the Ketch-9 exotic wager. The payout to this one punter was $2,191,125. THE QUICK GALLOPER congratulates this lone punter for spotting all nine winners.

 THE TWO-YEAR-OLDS

Four two-year-old races are now complete with trainer Jason DaCosta leading the pack with two winners; Silent Mission and Deezi. The other two races were taken by Philip Feanny (Princssshootingstar) and Anthony Nunes (Golden Wattle).

Deezi is the latest addition to the group of juvenile winners as after three starts, he lost the maiden tag in a driving finish with stablemate Tekapunt. One point of interest from the race won by Deezi was the performance of Sunset Shiloutte, a half-sister to She’s A Maneater. Sunset Shiloutte was heavily touted and was duly installed as the odds-on 1-5 favourite. After a slow start, Sunset Silhoutte (bay filly by Northern Giant – Ahwhofah) was not able to be a factor in the result, finishing fourth.

The two-year-old season is still young and there are certainly more youngsters who will make the headlines. Interesting days are ahead.

 THE THREE-YEAR-OLDS

Imported filly Lure of Lucy returned from a period of rehabilitation (174 days), to showcase her potential while winning for the second time from five career starts.

This filly has been noted for her speed in previous races and in the mornings at exercise. This time Lure of Lure was kept off the pace in a 5 ½ furlong contest and did her running in the final furlong and a half, thereby demonstrating that she can come from behind which augurs well for future endeavours.

THE REST OF THE AGE GROUPS

The top-rated race (Open Allowance/Graded Stakes) on the day was the Reggae Trophy (five straight) and Rojorn Di Pilot trained by Ian Parsard once again proved to be a warrior coming down the chute.

It was a dogged run by Rojorn Di Pilot, who was brilliantly handled by Dick Cardenas.

Without much fanfare, Rojorn Di Pilot has reached the top class at age five. Well done to all concerned.
