KINGSTON, Jamaica – The number of claiming races in the second quarter (April 1 – June 30, 2022) stood at 65, compared with 66 in the first quarter (January 1 – March 31, 2022).
In the second quarter under review 217 races were run with 65 or 29.95 per cent of those races in the various claiming brackets. In the first quarter there were 204 races or 32.3 per cent of those races being claiming races.
The month of April leads the way with 23 claiming races from a total of 77 races run over the 30-day period. Note, in the first six months of the 2022 Racing Year, a total of 411 races were run with 131 or 31.87 per cent of those 411 being claiming races.
