KINGSTON, Jamaica - The first race on Saturday, April 20, 2024, is designated for three-year-old maidens going 6 ½ furlongs.

Nine horses are entered to compete, with The Quick Galloper’s assessment provided below.

- CHIEF DISSIDENT is a bay colt (January 21) by Casual Trick out of Revolving Beauty, trained by Patrick Lynch with Jerome Innis in the saddle. Note that Chief Dissident races with the blinkers off. In three starts to date, Chief Dissident has not demonstrated anything of worth. Needs much more time.

- SPRAGGA is a bay colt (April 11) by Savoy Stomp out of Win Bracelet, trained by Alford Brown with Oshane Nugent riding. Note that Spragga races with the figure eight off, and with first-time Lasix. There is much more to learn. This is another learning experience for Spragga.

- INDESTRUCTIBLE is a bay colt (January 25) by Successful Native out of Rudy Girl, trained by Phillip Elliott, with Youville Pinnock aboard. Bring experience (five starts) and some reasonable efforts to the table. Cannot be ruled out of contention.

- SUPREMASI is a bay colt (May 12) by Savoy Stomp out of Beware Baby, trained by Anthony Nunes with Reyan Lewis holding the reins. This first-timer is a half-brother to the well-accomplished Big Daddy Kool. Supremasi has been steadily prepared for his initiation, putting in some good gallops. Has to be watched closely.

- ROCK - OLA is a chestnut colt (April 3) by Bold Leader out of Kitty Hawk, trained by Michael Marlowe with Tevin Foster as the designated jockey. Note that Rock-Ola races with the blinkers on. This colt has hit the board on the four occasions he has raced. Will find the distance of 6 ½ furlong just right.

- AFFAIR is a bay colt (May 10) by Casual Trick out of Nuclear Affair, trained by Gary Subratie with Raddesh Roman in the saddle. Note, Affair races with the figure eight off.  Affair has always been well-backed in his five career starts. Affair is slowly finding his way, and with his trainer taking off the figure eight, this is the opportunity to get into the winners’ enclosure.

- THE GENERAL is a bay colt (May 12) by Northern Giant out of Mama Blossom, trained by Gary Subratie with Omar Walker riding. Note that The General races with the blinkers off and the figure eight on. Has not shown anything much in his four career starts. That will not change on Saturday.

- PROVIDENT is a chestnut colt (April 21) by Sensational Slam out of Dream Point, trained by Jason DaCosta with Josue Osorio aboard. Note that Provident races with first-time Lasix. Morning onlookers are reporting that Provident has been moving well and has exhibited enough to put in a decent first effort.

- MACK AND ROME is a bay colt (February 5) by Bold Conquest out of Gold Miner, trained by Saqlain Roman with Robert Halledeen holding the reins. Mack And Rome first raced on February 5 and finished second behind King’s Crown. Will have to wait.
