KINGSTON, Jamaica – A telling burst on the wide outside brought victory for Sweet Renisha on the line in the Caymanas Wednesday second.

Trained by Steven Todd and ridden by Hakeem Pottinger, Sweet Reinsha’s victory was accomplished in a four-year-old and up (non-winners of two) at 7 ½ furlongs.

Sweet Renisha could not go with the early pace set by Daytona Belle (Oshane Nugent) but after a furlong was completed jockey Dick Cardenas pushed through Another Cookie.

Cardenas increased the galloped on Another Cookie to enter the lane for the last two furlongs with a clear advantage. Another Cookie was then challenged by Silent Cat Linton Steadman on the inside rails.

It was a ding dong struggle between these two saw Another Cookie holding on for dear life. Just when it appeared that Another Cookie would get the job done, Pottinger after going way wide at the turn brought Sweet Renisha with her bursting effort to nab the win by a head.  Another Cookie was second and Silent Cat third.

Approximately one length separated the first four finishers.

Sweet provided Pottinger with hsi second win this year.
