KINGSTON, Jamaica – The now much-improved jockey Jemar Jackson teamed-up with hot trainer Steven Todd to land an Independence Day double with Winx Choice in the eighth of nine races at Caymanas Park today.

Earlier in the seventh race the two scored their first win on the day with D M Cutie.

Jackson kept Winx Choice well of the pace in the Restricted Allowance 11 for three-year-old non-winners of two run over nine furlongs and 25 yards.

After leaving the three-furlong point on the course, Winx Choice shot down to take the lead entering the straight and although going wide was able to hold his gallop well to thwart the challenge of Salah with Reyan Lewis aboard. Third went to foreigner She’s Irie.

The winning time for the distance was an encouraging 1:57.1.
