KINGSTON, Jamaica - The second race on Saturday’s 10-race card, June 28, 2025, is for four-year-olds and up (non-winners of 4) and imported four-year-olds and up (non-winners of 3).
Six horses will dash 5½ furlongs.
1 – KING’S CROWN
Since entering this class, KING’S CROWN has been unable to impose himself. His preferred style—setting the pace—requires a clean break and early control, which may be tough given the speed drawn to his outside. However, he’s not to be discounted for a place finish if he secures a favourable early position. Strong contender for the exacta.
2 – MY SUNSHINE
While MY SUNSHINE has made a credible push to rise through the grades, his two recent performances at this level have exposed limitations. He shows flashes of potential but lacks the closing punch or tactical edge to threaten the leaders in this group. Needs a career-best effort to be relevant.
3 – JUSTIN BIGTIME
Reliable and consistent, JUSTIN BIGTIME has proven himself in this class, hitting the board in three of four tries. He thrives just off the lead, where he can stalk and strike in the final two furlongs. With tactical speed and late kick, he poses a genuine threat. Must be respected.
4 – PINEAPPLE
Despite an equipment change, figure eight off, PINEAPPLE has struggled to adjust to the pace and pressure of this class. Still learning what’s required at this level, and while the raw ability may be there, he’s likely still a few runs away from full competitiveness. Needs more time.
5 – MS CHERRY
Returning off a 105-day break, MS CHERRY enters with questions surrounding her fitness and readiness. While she possesses ability when fully wound up, this race may serve more as a tightener. Watch for improvement next time out.
6 – SMART TRICK
A pace demon with natural speed, SMART TRICK is built for these short sprints. With gate ace Wesley Henry taking the reins, he’s primed to blaze from the start. Against a field lacking consistent challengers, he holds a serious edge and could make every call a winning one. The one they’ll all have to catch.
