Sir John gets the Caymanas Monday ninth in the stewards’ room

KINGSTON, Jamaica – It was a bang-up finish over the last two furlongs involving Sir John (Dick Cardenas) and Bern Notice (Kiaman McGregor) with the latter getting the nod on the line by a nose in the Caymanas Monday ninth.

Then a stewards’ inquiry was quickly announced followed afterward by a jockey’s objection from Cardenas.

After deliberating for a while, the stewards of the race meet handed in their judgement. The winner Bern Notice was disqualified and placed behind Sir John. According to the official announcement Bern Notice was disqualified for causing intimidation and interference.

Third in the event went to Heavenly Glitter (Dane Dawkins).

By virtue of the disqualification Cardenas secured his second win on the day.
