This Saturday’s feature race, the Princess Popstar brings together six juveniles, each seeking to stamp their mark over 5 ½ furlongs. The Princess Popstar is listed as the fourth of nine races (October 18, 2025).
While the field is compact, the presence of the American-bred Sir Don, who impressed on debut, adds clear excitement to the contest.
The Quick Galloper’s assessment of the six entered is shared below for the benefit of readers.
1 – TIA MARIA
Tia Maria is a chestnut filly (February 2) by Bold Conquest out of Zacapa, trained by Anthony Nunes with Romario Spencer in the saddle. Has raced twice already in her fledging career, showing some promise. Tia Maria was unkindly dealt with by foreigner and stablemate, Sir Don, losing by all of 9 ½ lengths. Facing Sir Don again is a daunting task. Can be considered to be a filler.
2 – GOD’S PLAN
God’s Plan is a chestnut colt (May 5) by Aveenu Malcainu out of Fearless Abi, trained by Gary Subratie with Dane Dawkins aboard. Made on noticeable debut on September 13, showing grit and determination to win by a neck. God’s Plan has ability, but with Sir Don in the line-up, the best play may be to pair them in the exacta.
3 – INFINITY STAR
Infinity Star is bay filly (USA February 13) by Greenpointcrusader out of Batmitzvah, trained by Winchester McIntosh with Phillip Parchment holding the reins. Finished second on debut, then failed to fire next time out. Saturday’s race offers little chance for a turnaround.
4 – SIR DON
Sir Don is a bay colt (USA May 8) by Spun To Run out of Enarmored, trained by Anthony Nunes with Raddesh Roman riding. Dominated his debut on September 27, cruising to a near nine-length win over four furlongs. His morning gallops suggest he’s ready to repeat. This race looks like a formality.
5 – BRODY’S UNITY
Brody’s Unity is a bay colt (USA February 15) by Brody’s Cause out of Bagatelle Park, trained by Alford Brown with Romane Gordon at the reins. Has yet to show meaningful form in two starts. Unlikely to factor among the leading contenders.
6 – COMUNA TRECE
Comuna Trece is a bay colt (USA May 28) by Maximum Security out of My Anguilla, trained by Oral Hayden with Shane Ellis giving guidance in the saddle. Note that Comuna Trece races with the tongue tie off. Ran fourth and second in his two outings, the latter well behind Sir Don. With the same rival present, another runner-up finish is the best he can hope for.
THE QUICK GALLOPER’S VERDICT
Sir Don was impressive on debut and has trained with purpose since. Unless something goes amiss at the break, or during the race itself, he should dominate once more. God’s Plan and Comuna Trece appear best of the rest, with the former offering value in the exacta. The others, including Tia Maria, are likely to play supporting roles.
