KINGSTON, Jamaica – It was not as easy as expected but She’s A Wonder packed enough class and grit to win the Jamaica Oaks (three-year-old fillies) travelling ten furlongs in what was the Caymanas Saturday seventh.

She’s A Wonder was not the best away but her jockey Reyan Lewis rated and guided the filly along the shortest route - the rails - going into the Clubhouse turn.

Down the backstretch. Lewis patiently waited on the Ian Parsard trained She’s A Wonder racing in third behind Awesome Choice and Action Ann (Omar Walker).

Lewis made a telling move with four and a furlong left in this Classic race going on by three to four lengths.

She’s A Wonder entered the stretch (last two furlongs) with a clear lead but others were now making a move.

Amy The Butcher (Dick Cardenas), who finished second and the surprise package in the race Ianzha Links (Phillip Parchment), finished third were both running on.

It was a first Oaks victory for Parsard and Lewis, who both have two Classic wins in their cabinet with She’s A Wonder also winning the 1000 Guineas earlier this year.

Lewis must be credited for a truly worthy performance in the saddle.

It was a second Classic win for the sire of She’s A Wonder, Bern Identity.
