KINGSTON, Jamaica – Former champion jockey, Christopher Mamdeen visited the winners’ enclosure on two occasions on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at the Hastings Racecourse located in Vancouver, Canada.
In the second race, Mamdeen piloted the Robert Maybin trained number five, Flying Miss.
The post-race report reads as follows: “FLYING MISS unhurried early while dropping back to trail, launched her bid from the back of the pack while saving ground at the rail entering the final turn, and continued to gain from along the inside in the drive, before splitting rivals approaching the wire to get up in time”.
Mamdeen’s second winner on the day came in day’s seventh on number four, Ave’s In Command again for trainer Maybin.
The Hastings Racecourse is a horse-racing facility at Hastings Park, four miles from Downtown Vancouver. Originally called East Park, it opened for business in 1889, making it Vancouver's longest continuously used professional sports facility.
