KINGSTON, Jamaica – For the first time on today’s 14-race Diamond Mile Race Day, champion trainer Wayne DaCosta got the upper hand over Anthony Nunes when Ricky Ricardo with Anthony Thomas doing the riding honours easily took the 11th race at the Park, a non-winners of 2 – three-year-old event going a mile.
Ricky Ricardo stayed off the pace before making a telling move 4 ½ furlongs out. He then moved by the leaders in the stretch drive before skittering away by close to five lengths for the win at odds of 4-5.
Second went to outsider (20-1), Queen of the Harbour with third spot taken by Queen’s Highway at 10-1.
Thomas with his second victory on the day is now 11 ahead of Dick Cardenas in the jockey’s race.
