KINGSTON, Jamaica – Trainer Maurice Crooks was a winner with his 11th start of the season as his trainee Raw Liquid with apprentice Roger Hewitt in the saddle won the sixth race in a driving finish against Princess Lauren and Dane Nelson.
It was Princess Lauren from the number two draw in a field of 14 who blazed off in front when the starter pressed the button to signal the start of the race.
Princess Lauren led into the straight and then was consistently challenged by Raw Liquid.
In a ding dong battle Raw Liquid was able to put himself in front in the glass to deny Nelson a fourth winner on the day.
Third was Reggae Gone Grammy.
