KINGSTON, Jamaica – Beltane provided long standing rider, Delroy Beharie with one of his rare winners as the sixth race on the mid-week programme at Caymanas Park ended in a blinding finish just a while ago.
Beharie had to pull out all the stops on the Wayne Parchment trainer Beltane eventually holding off the challenge of Astro and Boss Izzy. The final margins were ¾ lengths by a nose.
Beltane going off at odds of 4-5 provided Parchment with his second winner for the year.
The winning time for the 6 1/2 furlong RESTRICTED ALLOWANCE (5YOS&UP/NW2) event was 1:25.1.
