KINGSTON. Jamaica – A heavy downpour of rain caused a weather break at Caymanas Park today (Sunday, September 11, 2002) before the start of the fifth race.
After the rain subsided there was a seismic shift with the outsiders finding their way to the winning post at long odds on what is now a sloppy race track.
The first of the outsiders to strike was Awesome Choice in the fifth at odds of 41-1. Awesome Choice was piloted to victory by Jordan Barrett for trainer Steven.
In the sixth, Tocatbetheglory obviously enjoying the underfoot condition of the race track won convincingly at odds of 55-1. It was another winner for trainer, owner, and breeder Carl Anderson. Jockey Nicholas Hibbert was atop Tocatbetheglory.
Little wonder no bettor was able to spot all six winners in the Reggae 6, with the carryover now standing at $4,551,640.80.
