DISTANCE

For the first time in the 62-year-old-history of horse racing at Caymanas Park, horses will be racing over 9 ½ furlongs (1900 metres). That will mean that a new track record will be recorded tomorrow at the Park. Interestingly, for the first time in many, many moons, horses will race over 4 ½ furlongs.

MOST WINS/STARTS

There are two horses who share the honour of having the most wins on tomorrow’s (September 4) 11-race card at Caymanas Park.

Papa Albert has 12 wins from 50 starts and Dee Danger (6 years) has 12 wins from 31 starts.

The horse with the most career starts on the program is Powerful Red who has faced the starter on 105 occasions, during which time he has won 10 times.

JOCKEYS

Leading jockey Anthony Thomas and Dick Cardenas have secured nine rides each out of the 11 races that will be run. Apprentice Youville Pinnock has six while former 6-time champion jockey Omar Walker will be on five mounts.

TRAINERS

Trainer Jason DaCosta will have horses in five races, with Richard Azan, Gary Griffiths, Rowan Mathie, and Nicholas Smith will have horses in four races.

Of note is that champion trainer Anthony Thomas has one starter on the day, Santorini in the ninth race.

Gary Subratie, the trainer closest to Nunes in the championship, will have horses in three races on the day.
