KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Superstakes provided another victory for the reigning monarch of local racing She’s A Maneater ridden by Omar Walker, trained by Wayne DaCosta, bred by Winston Kong and owned by Ian Kong.

Quickgallop.com looks at the facts and figures behind this Superstakes win by this outstanding mare.

1. She’s A Maneater is the only female thoroughbred to win this prestigious race three times and she was able to achieve this record three-years in a row. The other horses to win this race three consecutive times are Menduo in 1999, 2000, 2001, and for a fourth time in 2002 and Mark My Word in 2010, 2011 and 2012. The Viceroy won the Superstakes three times as well but not consecutively in 1989, 1990 and 1992.

2. Jockey Omar Walker was winning his third Superstakes. His previous winners were Mark My Word in 2011 and She’s A Maneater in 2018 and 2019.

3. Walker is the only jockey to win the Triple Crown (2017), the Diamond Mile (Seeking My Dream – 2015/16) and the Superstakes albeit with the Diamond Mile having only three winners – Seeking My Dream (twice), She’s A Maneater and Will In Charge.

4. In the seven horse field in this year’s Superstakes, She’s A Maneater was the only female horse.

5. After a long wait trainer Wayne DaCosta won his first Superstakes in 2017 with She’s A Maneater ridden by then apprentice Anthony Thomas. The trainer won again in 2018 and 2019 with She’s A Maneater ridden both times by Omar Walker.
