“Well said my bro. A not-so-great crop of three-year-olds, but I have an idea for the promoters to ponder.
The stratification of horses all over the world is the same. You have the very bottom F and G classes the middle C class and you have the top albeit a class.
Most of the time the cream of the crop will get race fans going miles to see eg: Atomica, Jordon Reign’s and Mahogany. The upcoming Gold Cup might just be the race to do it.
Now for the horses classified at the bottom, if you sponsor a lucrative purse and a classic distance of 12 furlongs, getting the best 16 horses from the lower ranks a Poor Man’s Derby so to speak, not only would it bring fans from near and far but smaller trainers and owners would be overly enthused to have a shot at say $5 million dollars.”

With all due respect this idea is utter rubbish. What SVL needs to do is to improve product either thru importation of quality horses or run more competitive races to attract fans. Along with that clean up the otb and smoking because it is a turnoff for non smokers and try to run the races on time and not 30 to 45 minutes late. Also stop running 3 and 4 furlong races for old horses that should be retired.

YES YES MR DALEY YOUV'E HIT THE NAIL ON THE PROVERBIAL HEAD,I AGREE STOP RUNNING 3 AND 4 FURLONG RACES AS OF NOW.WE HAD THE CRADLE STAKES AND THE ACORN STAKES THESE RACES ARE FOR 2 YEAR OLDS ONLY.THESE SETTLERS SHOULD BE RETIRED FROM RACING.
