RACE ONE – The power and skill laden attributes of jockey Dane Nelson were the basis of the win by Versatile Vision in the first. The clash between the two co-champion jockeys Nelson and Anthony Thomas resulted once more in a win for the former.

RACE TWO – Two wins on the trot for Tradition, jockey Ruja Lahoe and trainer Shaun Williams. Williams was the valedictorian of his time in training school but has not visited the winners’ circle enough since graduating. Good to see both Williams and Lahoe as winners and long may it last.

RACE THREE – Bold front running effort by Blind Faith to continue the good form this season of trainer Ian Parsard.

RACE FOUR – Another of the now regular short straight races which have formed part of the recent racing menu.  Markofaprince won this edition easily for trainer Gregory Forsyth who is currently enjoying the best form of his career. A word too for winning jockey Romario Spencer who since his win on the top rated Toona Ciliata has gained a lot of confidence.

RACE FIVE – The much-anticipated debut of Curlin’s Affair (Perfect Curlin – Nuclear Affair) earned the chestnut colt victory for owner/breeder Michros and trainer Anthony Nunes. This was the first horse saddled by Nunes for the champion owner. Curlin’s Affair although shortening a bit in the final furlong is one to watch so too T Bardy, also a first timer, who came from way behind to notch second.

RACE SIX – An easy win for Custer and jockey Shane Ellis. The fact that Custer was able to hold his gallop in the last furlong allowed him a win by seven lengths.

RACE SEVEN – Foreigner Awesome Treasure after many attempts found the winning post in front of rivals to continue the productive start to the year by trainer Gary Subratie and owners The Success Farms.

RACE EIGHT – Another dogged victory for the Dennis Lee trained Roy Rogers. This grey gelding is as tough as nails and deserves every accolade for another victory. Another bad run by former Triple Crown winner Supreme Soul who has completely lost his form.
