KINGSTON, Jamaica – Coming from off the pace, first time starter Princess Lauren opened her racing career with a thumping win over six furlongs a short while ago at Caymanas Park. The win by Princess Lauren came in the featurev race, dividied into two sections, the John Clifton Wright memorial Trophy.
Trained by Gary Subratie, Princess Lauren went off at odds of 2-1. Second went to another first timer Black River (4-1), and third was the position occupied by Mystic Mama (4-1).
Howling 3-5 favourite Splendid Vision did not hit the board.
The winning time for six furlongs was 1:14.1 with splits of 23.3 x 47.1.
