KINGSTON, Jamaica – The 2019 Yearling Sale saw just over $180 million being spent by buyers. This is a significant increase over last year when the total amount was $142,250,000.
A total of 148 lots were on offer, of which 11 lots were withdrawn and a further two lots were unsold, leaving 135 lots available for bidders.
Lot 44, a bay filly by Northern Giant – Buyabook, was the top seller on the day at $4.5 million. The buyer was trainer Anthony Nunes for owner Chevan Maharaj.
Also drawing attention was Lot 136, a bred in utero chestnut colt by Drill – Kenzie’s Charm who was sold to trainer Wayne DaCosta for $3.6 million.
