Continuing his impressive run in the 2024 racing season, trainer Oral Hayden clinched two more wins with horses Talona and Bad Investment, contributing to his total of six victories this year. The winning streak unfolded at the nine-race event held on Saturday, April 13, 2024.

The third race witnessed Talona, a native-bred five-year-old, assert dominance in the mixed class event for older horses. The spirited mare, under the guidance of jockey Youville Pinnock, executed a flawless single move to claim victory over a 5-furlong round, finishing an impressive 4 ¼ lengths ahead of her competitors.

Clocking in at 1:01.3, with split times of 23.0 and 47.0, Talona bested the likes of Traditional Lady, steered by Jerome Innis, and Jaguar, with Robert Halledeen in the irons.

Bad Investment showcased a contrasting strategy in the sixth race, aimed at maiden native-bred four-year-olds and older. The four-year-old bay colt, deftly ridden by Halledeen, emerged from the pack in a thrilling 5-furlong straight dash.

In an exciting final push, Bad Investment crossed the finish line a length and a half ahead of closest rival Benson, ridden by Romario Spencer, clocking a time of 1:02.3 (24.1 x 47.2). Sir Wong Don, with Natalie Berger aboard, rounded out the top three.

Hayden's adept hand at preparing his contenders has been on full display throughout the season, and the double win on Saturday only serves to underscore his capability as a trainer of winning thoroughbreds. With the season progressing, the racing community eagerly anticipates what other triumphs Hayden and his stable may achieve.
