Racing returns to Caymanas Park tomorrow, Saturday, November 15, 2025, with the feature event, the StarGas United Racehorse Trainers’ Association of Jamaica (URTAJ) Trophy.
A competitive field of 13 runners will line up in the Restricted Overnight Allowance for three-year-olds and upward over six furlongs.
The Quick Galloper’s race analysis is shared with readers.
1 – KWAKU
Struggling to make an impact at this level and probably better suited to the claiming ranks. Unlikely to trouble the principals.
2 – SUPER ALEX
A model of consistency in recent times at Overnight Allowance. Rarely runs a poor race and should once again be in the mix. A solid candidate for inclusion in exotic wagers.
3 – ZULU WARRIOR
Gradually adjusting to the demands of Overnight Allowance. Faces a sterner test here but arrives in good condition. Likely to sit close to the pace and could strike in the final two furlongs if things fall right.
4 – ALLEGIANCE
Has disappointed in his last four outings, but connections will hope the removal of the figure eight will spark improvement. Could sneak into the minor placings if rediscovering some form.
5 – PROVIDENT
Has shown decent form recently, but six furlongs is far too sharp for him. Expected to be left behind once the speedsters quicken. Best avoided.
6 – I DREAM AGAIN
The Jamaica Derby winner has failed to make an impression in two attempts at this level. Still looks out of his depth and is likely to struggle once more.
7 – CALIFORNIA GOLD
Offers little appeal in this company and can be safely passed over.
8 – HUNTSMAN
Has been prominent in his last three runs and continues to show steady progress. Reliable enough to be backed for a top-four finish, though victory may prove elusive.
9 – COMEHOMETOME
Disappointed last time when finishing ninth over 6½ furlongs despite high expectations. That effort aside, his overall record suggests he deserves serious consideration. Capable of bouncing back.
10 – ANOTHER ONE
Twice placed third at this level and possesses natural speed. Likely to dictate the tempo from the outset. If allowed to settle comfortably in front, he could prove very hard to reel in.
11 – OIL MACHINE
Still learning the ropes in Overnight Allowance, as shown by his third-place finish behind Main Mistress and Cookie Day N Night. Six furlongs may be a touch short, but he remains a horse of interest for minor honours.
12 – KING’S CROWN
Clearly outclassed at present and cannot be recommended.
13 – COOKIE DAY N NIGHT
Ran a strong race last time when finishing just 1¼ lengths behind Main Mistress. Proven over six furlongs and should be right there when the race is being decided. A genuine contender.
THE QUICK GALLOPER’S VERDICT
This looks a competitive renewal with several live chances. Another One is expected to blaze the trail and could prove difficult to catch if left alone in front. Cookie Day N Night brings solid recent form and should be in the thick of things late on, while Zulu Warrior and Comehometome are capable of striking if the pace collapses. For punters seeking reliability, Super Alex and Huntsman offer strong claims for the frame.
Likely finish: Another One, Cookie Day N Night, Zulu Warrior, Super Alex.
